Research
As the brief requires one to celebrate the 100th anniversary and focus on the positive impact of the BBC network on British culture, the initial idea was to conduct primary research across the university and the public and generate a datasheet. After the first round of feedback from tutors and considering the time constraint for collecting a large quantity of data, information from secondary sources became the main research scope.

Research on this aspect led to several statistical reports through the years. Here are the two main reports published by the British Department of Culture, Media and Sport and some of the statistics considered for this data visualization project.
• A BBC for the Future - a broadcaster of distinction (2016)
• Research to explore public views about the BBC (2016)

Apart from the data visualization, bringing a sense of familiarity and homage to the 100 years of BBC services was necessary. During the research process, some iconic objects of the BBC came to my attention that may be combined to create two layers of information for this project.

After multiple conversations with peers and research over the internet, the idea of using a jigsaw established itself as the outcome. Even the recreation of the first test card changed to test card F to celebrate the most prominent test card in BBC history.
